Guild Tournaments?

So, the topic of our own guild tournaments has been brought up before. I think it's a great idea, and I know most of you do as well. Post your suggestions for tournament types and possible prizes here. The more ideas, the better.

  1. Round Robbin. Make a table where everyone plays everyone once, if it's a tie, top two face each other, winner gets 1st, loser gets second.

  5. Basically a good idea. How do you plan on balancing the tourney? As my card pool is still evolving, I fell like a punching bag :)

  6. Well, tournament type is decided it seems; Round robin, double elimination. Now, lets get some ideas about deck format.

  7. Ok, I guess I'll start. How about an all commons tourney?

  8. Well i think that we could offer crystals as prize, a pretty simple way we post in market any card that is worth 100 and that the people take that like an entrance fee, so lets say 500 crystals and that all just 1 person reunites all the cash and then the winner post another junk card and the one who is giving the prize buys it.
We should make a list of how to balance the decks we're playing either by heroes or cards played. So lets say a low category tournament for new people can't have This or that card, and just lvl 2 heroes or something.
    Just my 2 cents :D

  9. Yeah, Joe and I talked about how to fund prizes and what not. That was pretty much exactly what we had in mind. What does everyone else think?

  10. Round Robin, Double Elimination. Winners Bracket and Losers bracket. That way everyone can still have a chance at winning a prize.

I would suggest the first one be a level 1 characters only. Either make it so it's either a highlander type with only 1 copy of each card *not the greatest*, or make it regular style.

Also depending on the levels of participants, we might need to either A: Make separate brackets for level groups or B: Make sure everyone has training room games available just in case it is needed to play against the next opponent.

I suggested that the winners continue on their bracket and if you happen to lose, you now enter the losers bracket. Both brackets pay out. 1st and 2nd for winners and then the 3rd and 4th winners would be whoever played and won in the losers bracket. Also, I would be willing to do the payout for the tournament.

  11. Also, everyone that is playing in the tournament should be in the chat room prior to it starting. Whenever we decide to do it that is. This way, it makes communication easier without having to mail back and forth via in game.

  12. definitely should be round robin....losers bracket takes too long though and makes it complicated. recommend everyone plays everyone best 2 out of 3. priza you guys can have fun with lol

  13. My suggestion for tournament deck builds is:

-You must have 2 copies of each card in your deck.
-You deck must consist of 10 different cards.
    -Legendary cards are fobidden.
-Characters of max level 3 are allowed.

This will make the decks somewhat balanced and playable by everybody. The powerhouse unique cards cannot be used and teh powerful (up to 3 copy cards) are restricted to two, so you cannot rely on super powerful combos all of the time.
